Company setup
The three-step setup wizard after you verify your email — company profile, GST and address, and financial conventions — what each field does and what can be skipped.
Registration only asks who you are. The setup wizard asks what every quotation, purchase order, RA bill and invoice needs to know about your company. It opens on its own after you verify your email, and it keeps opening until it is finished.

Work through the wizard
- Fill in the step. A preview on the right shows how your answers will look on an invoice (on a wide screen).
- Click Save and continue. Each step is saved as soon as you leave it.
- To leave a step blank for now, click Skip. You can return to it from the step list on the left.
- To fix an earlier step, click Back or click the finished step in the list.
- On the last step, click Finish setup. This saves step 3 and finishes in one go.
- On the closing screen, click Open my dashboard.
Only the company name is required. Everything else can be skipped.
Step 1 — Company profile
| Field | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Company name | Required. The name printed on every document. It replaces the placeholder created at registration. |
| Legal name | As registered, if it differs from the trading name — for example "Pvt. Ltd." |
| Phone, Company email, Website | Printed in your document headers. The company email is also the reply-to address when documents are emailed through the shared Zaptiz sender — see Integrations. |
Step 2 — Tax & address
| Field | What it is for |
|---|---|
| GSTIN | 15 characters, for example 29AAAAA0000A1Z5. Checked for shape only — a real GSTIN is never rejected. |
| GST registration | Regular, Composition or Unregistered. |
| PAN | Ten characters, AAAAA0000A. |
| CIN | Companies only. |
| Address line 1, Address line 2, City, Pincode | Your registered address, printed on documents. |
| State · GST code | The two-digit GST state code, for example 29 · Karnataka. |
GSTIN auto-fill. A GSTIN already contains your state code (its first two digits) and your PAN (characters 3 to 12). When you type a well-formed GSTIN, the wizard fills State · GST code and PAN if they are still empty, and shows State and PAN filled in from your GSTIN. It never overwrites something you typed yourself.
Your company's state code is one half of the CGST + SGST versus IGST decision on every tax invoice — the other half is the site's state. Zaptiz does not guess it. You can skip it here, but set it before you raise your first invoice, or the tax split on that invoice cannot be worked out properly.
Step 3 — Financial conventions
| Field | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Currency | INR — Indian rupee, AED — UAE dirham or USD — US dollar. |
| Financial year starts | April for India. Document numbers restart with each financial year. The preview shows the current year, for example FY 2026–27. |
| Purchase order approval threshold | A Procurement Manager may approve purchase orders up to this amount. Above it, only a Company Admin can. Quick picks: Approve all myself, ₹50,000, ₹1,00,000, ₹5,00,000. |
At 0 — the default — every purchase order comes to the Company Admin. Raise it once you know what a routine order looks like. The threshold in force when an order is submitted is stored on that order, so changing it later does not alter past approvals.
Resume where you left off
Closing the tab loses at most the step you were typing. Next time you sign in you return to the furthest step you reached, with everything already saved filled in. Going Back to fix a typo never throws away later steps.
Until the wizard is finished, everyone in your company who signs in is brought to it, and only a Company Admin can save it.
The wizard has no sign-out button. To sign out without finishing, open construction.zaptiz.com/settings and use the account menu at the top right › Sign out.
What "ready" means
Finish setup never refuses because a field is blank. Ready means the company has a name and you have chosen to start. The fields you skipped matter later, at the document that uses them — the state code at your first tax invoice, the PAN and GSTIN on every document header.
The closing screen suggests three first moves: create a project and load its BOQ, invite your team, and run the chain. Your first project walks through them.
The wizard says you can change these details later in Settings. Settings does not include company details yet, and the wizard cannot be reopened once it is finished. Use Back to check every step before you click Finish setup, and email support@zaptiz.com if something needs correcting afterwards.
Messages you may see
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| That does not look like a GSTIN. It is 15 characters, like 29AAAAA0000A1Z5. | Check for a typo, or clear the field and skip it. |
| A PAN is ten characters, like AAAAA0000A. | Fix the PAN or clear it. |
| The GST state code is two digits, like 29 for Karnataka. | Pick the state from the list rather than typing it. |
