| Role | Your company role, which decides what you can do. See Roles and permissions. |
| Designation | Your job title, if one was entered when you were added. |

Turn on two-step verificationโ
Two-step verification adds a 6-digit code from an authenticator app to your sign-in, so a stolen password is not enough on its own. It is available to every role.
- In the Two-step verification panel, click Turn on. A QR code appears.
- Scan it with Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy or any app that shows 6-digit codes. If your phone cannot scan, click Can't scan? Show the setup key and type the key into the app.
- Enter the code the app shows in Code from your app.
- Click Turn on.
- Ten backup codes appear. Click Copy all, save them somewhere other than your phone, then tick I have saved these codes somewhere safe. and click Done.
Nothing changes about your sign-in until step 4 succeeds, so cancelling halfway is safe. You get an email whenever two-step verification is turned on or off.
Backup codes are shown once. Zaptiz keeps only a scrambled copy and cannot show them again. If you lose your phone and your backup codes, you cannot sign in โ email support@zaptiz.com.
Use and replace backup codesโ
Each backup code signs you in once, typed into the same box as the app's code. The panel shows how many you have left and when two-step verification was turned on. At two or fewer it warns You are nearly out of backup codes.
To get a fresh set:
- Click New backup codes.
- Enter the current code from your authenticator app.
- Click Generate new codes, then save the new set as above.
Every old code stops working the moment the new set is made.
Turn off two-step verificationโ
- Click Turn off.
- Enter Your password and a Code โ from your app, or a backup code.
- Click Turn off.
Both are needed; a password alone or a code alone is refused, and the message does not say which was wrong.
What the assistant remembersโ
If you use the Assistant, this panel lists every fact it keeps about you โ up to 30 โ such as "my default project is Tower B". These are used in every conversation.
- To add one, tell the assistant "remember โฆ".
- To delete one, click the bin icon (Forget this) beside it, or say "forget โฆ" in the chat.
Dark modeโ
Account menu โบ Dark mode. It switches at once and is remembered by the browser you set it in, so your phone and your laptop can differ.
Change your passwordโ
There is no change-password form in Settings. To change it, sign out, click Forgot password? on the sign-in page and follow the emailed link โ see Signing in. This signs you out on every device, which is what you want if you suspect someone else knows the old one.
For Company Adminsโ
Your Settings page also has a People panel, where you can change roles and add people. It is covered in Users and roles.
