Resource Catalog Match
For every BOQ line that is not linked to a resource, get the best match from your own catalogue with a score and a reason — or an honest "no confident match".
A BOQ that came from a client, or from the BOQ Generator, is only text — "Providing and laying M25 RCC…", "TMT Fe500D 12 mm". This agent tells you which of your own resources each line most likely is, so you can build its rate from the right material.

What it reads
- The BOQ you choose — its lines with no linked resource and no rate analysis. Headings are skipped.
- Your resource catalogue (up to 3,000 resources): names, descriptions, brands and units.
What you get
- A Suggestions table: Item, Description, Unit, Suggested resource, Resource unit, Confidence, Why.
- Key figures: Unlinked lines, Matches suggested, No confident match, Resources searched.
How it decides
| Step | Rule |

| Shortlist | The five most alike resources by text; anything under 35% alike is not considered. Same unit as the line is a small bonus. |
| Numbers are the specification | When both texts carry numbers and they differ — 12 mm and 16 mm, M20 and M25 — the score is cut hard. |
| Choice | The AI picks one resource from the shortlist, or says it is not sure. A pick from outside the shortlist is rejected. |
| AI unavailable | Text matching only, and only a clear winner — at least 85% alike and 10 points ahead of the next — is suggested ("Matched on text only"). |
| Unit differs | Flagged low: "A conversion will be needed when the rate is built." |
| Large BOQ | The first 150 unlinked lines are checked per run. |
If your role cannot see a BOQ's rate details, the agent cannot tell which lines are already linked, so it checks every line and says so.
Run it
- In the sidebar, open Workspaces › Commercial and click Resource Catalog Match under AI agents.
- In BOQ, paste the BOQ's ID — open the BOQ and copy the last part of the address.
- Click Run agent.
- Work down the table. Treat No confident match as "decide this one yourself".
Safeguards
- It changes nothing and drafts nothing. It suggests; you decide.
- "No confident match" is a proper answer, not a failure. A wrong link is worse than none — the line would inherit the wrong unit, rate history and stock.
- It reads your catalogue and the BOQ as you, and only what you can see.
The app has no control yet to link an existing BOQ line to a resource. Use the table as your working list: build or pick the rate analysis for each line from the suggested resource, and when you add a line on the BOQ screen choose its Rate analysis there.
Tips
- Matches are only as good as your catalogue. Put sizes, grades and specifications in resource names — "TMT bar Fe500D 12 mm", not "Steel".
- Add the resources the table cannot find, then run again.
- Run it right after the BOQ Generator, while the lines are fresh.
